Ffynnon Taf Angling Club has the fishing rights on the lower River Taff for brown trout and grayling. The club has around 4 miles of river Taff fishing, starting just below the footbridge at Gelynis farm in Morganstown, Cardiff, then a continuous stretch upstream through Taff’s Well to Upper boat bridge at Trefforest Industrial Estate. The club water has predominantly trout and grayling fishing, with the odd salmon and a few chub. The club does not offer day tickets to the public at present and membership capacity has been reached. The club does not allow paddle boarding, kayaking or watersports; there are no legal access points on the river for these activities. FTAC also has a private stretch of the river Ely. This runs from Miskin Village, through the grounds of Miskin Manor continuing downstream for several Kilometres. The Ely here has brown trout, chub, grayling.
