Glamorgan Anglers: Cardiff Bay - Fishing in Wales
Cardiff bay barrage lake

Glamorgan Anglers: Cardiff Bay

Cardiff bay barrage lake is a freshwater lake of several hundred acres. It can be fished under the Glamorgan Anglers ticket.

It has a mixture of freshwater and sea species, that come in from the barrage lock.

Species present include: Carp, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Chub, Perch, Mullet, Bass, Pike and Eels.

There are also reports of trout, barbel, salmon and grayling.

Fishing is only permitted within designated areas. There will be signs on the banksides showing the permitted areas, on the club maps or on the Harbour Authority website here.

The barrage lake is almost untapped, it probably has the most potential of any lake in Wales for large carp, pike and perch.

Tickets can be purchased at Garry Evans Tackle or from the Harbour Authority.
