East Aberthaw Lagoon - Fishing in Wales
aberthaw lagoon

East Aberthaw Lagoon

East Aberthaw Lagoon is a freshwater pool in a nature reserve very close to Aberthaw beach. Fish species include Roach, Rudd, Carp, Tench, Eel, Bream, Perch.

The fishing is locally said to be ‘free’ and fishing is allowed off the beach shore. The venue is very weedy in summer.

The lagoon once produced a record Mullet in 1979 of 14lb 2oz. There are still mullet (and bass) in the lagoon, at very high tides they can come through the outlet pipe.
