A natural lake also known as Llyn y Forwyn sensible policies pursued have turned this prolific lake into one of the primary Welsh venues for specimen fish. Situated within a municipal park, fishing is only permitted during opening hours. The lake is oval and fringed by a low wall supporting a wide, flat and hard path take an unhooking mat please with plenty of seats ideal for anglers confined to a wheelchair. An adequate landing net is essential just in case. The lake is spring fed with water rarely less than 4 feet deep around the edge going down to 15 feet depth, the bottom is mixed being weed, silt and gravel. Carp have been caught to 27lb 9oz while bream touch double figures. Tench are about 3-4lb. These leading characters are supported by perch, roach & rudd which are all quite small up to 1.lb. There are a few pike present, but not the larger fish of a few years ago. Pike can only be fished for in the colder months. Fishing on the venue is with ‘Llyn y Forwen Angling Club’.
