Barry has fishing at Cold Knap, which is mostly clean and sandy, with shingle above the tide mark, fishing onto similar.

Fish caught around Barry include bass, smoothounds, rays, conger. dabs, whiting, cod, mullet, pouting, flounder, plaice, wrasse.

Cold Knap is on the west side of Barry and is well signposted in the town. There is a car park at the beach, payable in season.

Barry also has beach fishing at Whitmore Bay, Jacksons Bay, Little Island Bay and Watch House Bay. There is also wall fishing at the Old Harbour and the Docks and rock marks, two of the better known being Friar’s Point and Bendrick Rock.
