It has a diverse array of fish species. These include perch, roach, pike, brown trout, grayling, eels, minnows, loaches, ruffe and bullheads.

The pike and trout are known to grow to specimen sizes – pike to 30lb plus and ‘ferox’ trout to 15lb have been caught.

Llyn Tegid is one of only a few places in the country where still-water grayling can be caught.

The legendary gwyniad is unique to the lake. This is a deep water plankton feeder and seldom caught on rod and line.

A BDAA season  permit allows you to fish the lake. A Bala Angling DAY ticket gives the angler access to all club waters but NOT LLYN TEGID. The angler wishing to fish LLyn Tegid on a day ticket MUST buy a ticket from the warden or ticket machine near the warden’s office.
