St Mary’s Well Bay, also called the Sand Spit, is a sand and shingle beach, fishing onto similar ground. Fish include blonde ray, smooth-hound, cod, bass, whiting, dabs, flounders, mullet, dogfish, conger. St Mary’s Well Bay is signposted off the B4267 between Penarth and Sully. There is parking at the end of the lane. The path down to the beach is very steep and not for the less agile. Be aware the tide can come in very fast at this mark.
