Rhymney and District Angling Society has fishing has fishing on Bryn Brith Pond and Bute Town Reservoir.

These lakes have pike, carp, roach, rudd, perch, tench, bream and gudgeon.

Club waters also include Bute Town, Fochriw Feeder Pond, Deri lake, Cwm Darran Park Lake, two stretches on the Wye and a stretch on the Monmouth & Brecon canal.

The club once had Rhos Las Reservoir, also known as Rhaslas Pond, which is a 15 acre reservoir. This is no longer leased and was bought by mining company Miller Argent a few years ago. It holds a few pike, perch and roach, but very low stock density.
