Trawsfynydd is a premier trout fishing venue, with a fleet of boats. It regularly hosts the Welsh fly fishing team trials.

The fishing on Traws is mainly for quality brown and rainbow trout, which are caught regulary into double figures, but rudd, specimen pike to 20lb+ and perch are also present. Any method is allowed.

Dead baiting is allowed for the pike at certain times of the year, with fly and lure fishing being allowed all year.
