Porthcawl: Sandy Bay - Fishing in Wales

Porthcawl: Sandy Bay

Porthcawl has fishing from Sandy Bay, also known as Coney Beach, which is in front of the fairground (known as Coney Beach) and is large, sheltered and sandy. It fishes onto a mainly sandy bottom.

Fish caught in the Porthcawl area include gurnard, bass, rays, pollack, mullet, conger, mackerel.

Sandy Bay is reached by going south on the A4106 in Porthcawl, turning left at the roundabout, then first right into Eastern Promenade. This runs alongside the beach with roadside parking.

Porthcawl also has fishing from a pier, several beaches and rock marks.
