A large mountain lake of 40 acres in the Carneddau range of mountains at 1780 foot altitude. Accessed in around 45 minutes walk up a well maintained road. The lake holds darkly coloured wild brown trout, which are typically around 1/2lb with the odd larger fish. It also holds arctic char, which were re-located from llyn Peris. These have thrived and can sometimes be caught by anglers. The lake is very deep, with steep rocky banks and fishing spots are quite limited. It is a Welsh Water / Dwr Cymru reservoir and fishing is locally stated to be ‘free’.
