Llyn bran is a small natural lake a few miles north of llyn brenig. It holds pike (said to be mostly small jacks) and perch. The outflow stream flows into Brenig reservoir. The water is weedy, so is suited to surface lure fishing tactics. The fishing was once controlled by Vale of Clwyd Angling club. It is owned by Welsh Water who are removing a small dam and are reducing the water level to run it as a nature reserve. The future of fishing at the lake is uncertain, but in future it could open for fishing again.
