Bala and District Angling Association has mixed coarse and game fishing on the rivers Dee, Tryweryn, Llafar and Lliw. They also have fishing on Llyn Cwmprysor (also known as Llyn Tryweryn), Llyn Maes y Clawdd and the mighty Llyn Tegid (also known as Bala Lake). Fish include perch, roach, pike, brown trout, rainbow trout, grayling, eels, minnows, loaches, ruffe and bullheads. There are also salmon in the season. The legendary gwyniad is a plankton feeder and seldom caught on rod and line. It is a relic of the ice age and unique to Llyn Tegid. Methods allowed depend on the species, water and season. Bala Angling day and season tickets are available from various outlets in Bala, visit the club website for details.
