Fishing In Wales COVID-19 Guidance

Fishing In Wales COVID-19 Guidance

Coronavirus lock-down rules in Wales must be considered by anglers, these are different to England.

Maintaining physical and mental well-being is important, but if you are fishing in Wales please follow and respect the Welsh Government coronavirus regulations and guidance.

UPDATED 12/04/2021

Key points for anglers:

– ‘Stay local’ ends in Wales: Anglers residing in Wales can travel to go fishing anywhere they wish. From 12th April cross border travel is allowed, so anglers from England can now visit Wales to fish and vice versa.

– Visitors from England can now book a self catering property in Wales. So an angling holiday will be possible.

– Fisheries run as businesses (classed as outdoor sports facilities) were able to re-open from Saturday 13th March. Night fishing is allowed in Wales. Charter boats are classed as ‘outdoor attractions’ so cannot operate until 26th April.

– Please ensure before fishing that the venue, fishery or angling club has decided to re-open and you have acquired appropriate tickets or club membership.

– Up to six adults from two households or support bubbles can meet outside, so no adult competitions should take place at this time. Angling competitions for adults will be allowed in Wales from 26th April, with numbers limited to 30 persons.

– Welsh tackle shops and fishery facilities re-opened on the 12th April.

We remind anglers to be mindful of Welsh Government Covid-19 regulations.
