Cwmbran Angling Association has fishing on Llantarnam Ponds. These consist of 3 pools and fish for bream, roach, chub, carp, rudd, perch and tench.

The association also has coarse fishing on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal and mixed fishing, including brown trout, on the Afon Lwyd, a tributary of the Usk, the River Monnow, a tributary of the Wye,and Dowlais Brook.
