Cwmbran Angling Association has wild brown trout fishing on the Dowlais Brook. This small stream is a tributary of the river Lwyd. Very overgrown so best fished with a worm. Enquiries can be made via the Facebook page. Memberships and day tickets are available from Paul Churchill and other bailiffs on the bankside at Llantarnam Ponds. Cash or Card machine. Cwmbran Angling supplies, Richmond Rd, Pontnewydd also sells permits.
