Survey to understand sea angler views, knowledge and compliance with regulations

The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) is calling on sea anglers to take part in a survey aimed at examining sea angler’s views, knowledge, and compliance with regulations in England and Wales.

The survey seeks to gather essential feedback from sea anglers to understand how they receive, interpret, and follow regulations. Participants will be asked about their knowledge of angling regulations, sources of information, perceptions of fishery management, and experience as an angler. All responses are completely anonymous.

This information will help to understand how best to share information on regulations and work with anglers to improve both knowledge and compliance. The data collected will be compiled into a report used by scientists, fisheries managers, and the angling community to inform future strategies.

The more people willing to take part, the better the quality of the information produced. We encourage all anglers to participate in this important survey to help improve sustainability of our fisheries.
