Set in the majestic Llangollen valley, the Glyndwr Preserve offers 2½ miles of double bank river Dee fishing. It is some of the best grayling fishing in the UK (the international grayling competition is held on the Dee every year) and has a fine head of wild brown trout. Previously available on the Fishing Passport, this water is controlled by Midland Flyfishers, who are a small private club with beats available on this upper stretch of the Dee from Glyndyfrdwy to Groeslwyd. For 2026 no day tickets are currently issued. The club apparently operates club on an ‘invite only’ basis.
