Porthcawl: Newton Point - Fishing in Wales

Porthcawl: Newton Point

Porthcawl has fishing from Newton Point at the easterly end of Trecco Bay, with fishing onto a mainly sandy bed.

Fish caught in the Porthcawl area include gurnard, bass, rays, pollack, mullet, conger, mackerel.

Newton Point is close to the car parking for Newton Beach, which is reached by following the “Newton” signs off the A4106 at the first roundabout east of Porthcawl. From this road, Bridgend Road, take the second left turn into Clevis Crescent. Go down this road until a crossroads by a church. Carry straight on here down Beach Road, which leads to the western end of the beach where parking is available.

Porthcawl also has fishing from a pier, several beaches and rock marks.
