Mwnt - Fishing in Wales

Mwnt

Mwnt is a small sandy beach, fishing onto sand and rock mixed.

There are rock marks either side but these need great care. Access is not easy, the rocks are slippery and subject to big swells from time to time. Life jackets are a must. A rope, and the ability to use it properly, would be a great help in accessing some of the marks. These rock marks are not a place for the novice, the lone fisherman or the less agile.

Fish caught here include pollack, dogfish, mackerel, pouting, pollack, whiting.

Mwnt can be reached by taking the B4548 from Cardigan, signposted “Gwbert”. Mwnt is signposted from this road. Alternatively, take the B4333, signposted “Aberporth” off the A487 at Blaenannerch. Follow the red-bordered “MOD Aberporth” signs until the “Mwnt” signs start. There is a large pay and display car park at the beach.
