Milford Haven has several fishing opportunities around the marina, which is the former docks. In line with the byelaws of the Port of Milford Haven, fishing is not permitted within the marina, in the lock entrance, or directly off the Mackerel Stage. Fishing is permitted along the outer dock wall, between the Hot Water Slip and the Mackerel Stage. Most of the fishing takes place along the harbour wall to the Mackerel Stage (also known as Mackerel Jetty, Mackerel Quay or Mackerel Landing), which was once used by fishing boats. Fishing is over fairly clean ground although there are scattered rocks and weed. Fish caught include pouting, codling, dogfish, eels, whiting, bass, pollack , garfish, wrasse. flatfish. The marina is well signposted in the town. There is plenty of parking along the harbour wall at the far end of the marina.
