Margam Sands, also known as Margam Burrows, runs along the sea side of the steel works. It is a sandy beach, with shingle at the top, fishing onto a clean bed. Fish caught include dabs, gurnard, bass, dogfish, mackerel, garfish, mullet, whiting, codling. From Junction 38 on the M4, take the road running westwards, Heolcae’r Bont. Follow this right to its end at the beach, past Eglwys Nunydd reservoir and across a level-crossing. Parking is available, but be security conscious.
