Pryfed is an extremely remote and inaccessible llyn (lake) of about 5 acres situated high in the Rhinog mountains near Trawsfynydd. The lake is very deep, with steep shelving shores that are rocky and hard to move around. It must be one of the most difficult lakes to reach in Wales, the walk involves miles of steep climbing, traversing bog, centuries old heather and dangerous rock fissures. The lake holds a few wild brown trout. It is unknown who, if anyone owns the fishing rights, so we’d suggest you enquire locally.
