This large and extremely deep lake is a natural glacial water which has been dammed for water supply purposes. The lake holds wild brown trout, and also has a healthy population of arctic char, which have apparently colonised the lake from a re-location project in the catchment. The site is managed by Welsh Water and a season fishing ticket is available at llyn Brenig visitor center for £63, Day ticket is £15. The fishing is any method – spin, worm, fly, with a 2 fish bag limit.
