After 5 years of running a syndicate, the venue has announced that the current stock will be removed and re-homed in a few fisheries across England and Wales.

The revenue from these sales will go into complete re-fencing and restocking with young fish (C2 and C3). Also, the draining down of the lake will allow for maintenance checks, removal of hazardous snags, and any dead silt deposits.

The venue holds the unofficial Welsh carp record of 50lb 8oz captured by Natalie May in November 2025.

Llyn Cae-Tŷ-Nant exists in an area of the UK not noted for big carp and has been stocked with 40 hand-picked fish currently weighing between 25lb and 40lb.

The venue, near Tregaron, is owned by Steve Weeks and his wife Sioned, who has captained the Wales Ladies’ Carp Team.
