Llanbrynmair Angling Association has fly fishing for wild brown trout on Llyn Coch Hwyad, a remote 20 acre lake in the hills above Llanbrynmair. The name means ‘lake of the red duck’. Coch Hwyad is reached via several miles of dirt forestry track. As well as wild brown trout, it holds small perch. The lake is very shallow and is weedy in summertime. To fish contact Emyr Lewis. Day tickets are available, but must be pre-arranged.
