Islwyn and District Anglers has game fishing on the River Sirhowy. The sirhowy is the main tributary of the ebbw. It has an abundant population of wild brown trout, most of moderate size but pound plus fish are caught. It has good fly life, especially march browns in early spring. It is very quick to drop after rain, so is a good option when other rivers are unfishable locally. Day tickets are available online from the club website or in Greens tackle shop in Blackwood.
