Cwm yr Eglwys - Fishing in Wales

Cwm yr Eglwys

Cwm yr Eglwys is a small sheltered sandy bay with rocks at either end. The beach is sandy, fishing onto similar. The rock marks fish onto a mainly rough bottom, with gullies and channels that flood quickly at high water. When the tide is high, then fishing is possible from the wall of the churchyard, again onto clean sand.

Fish include dogfish, gurnard, whiting, flounders, plaice, pollack, dabs, bass, pouting.

Follow the “Bryn Henllan” signs in the village of Dinas Cross, on the A487 between Fishguard and Newport. Cwm yr Eglwys is signposted from Bryn Henllan. Parking is available at the end of the road, with a fee of £5 payable in an honesty box.
