Criccieth has two beaches, Criccieth and Marine, separated by the castle. Criccieth Beach, to the east of the castle, is mainly shingle, with sand further out, fishing onto clean ground. Marine Beach, sometimes known as Castle Beach, to the west of the castle, is sand with patches of rocks, fishing onto a mixed bottom. Fish caught include dogfish, plaice, dabs, rays, bass, flatties, eels, turbot, gurnards, mackerel. There is a car parking at the tops of both beaches but there can be problems at the height of the tourist season.
