Cambrian Angling Association has fishing for wild brown trout on Llyn Cwm Foel. The dam was breached in the early 90’s for safety reasons, it has since been partly rebuilt to supply a water turbine, but not to its former level. Although not up to its past productivity, still worth a cast. Llyn Cwm Foel is at around 1,100′, 4 acres and about 1 and a half hours walk from Tanygrisiau. It fishes well with spinner or fly for wild brown trout some of which reach 1lb. It is quite good, worth the walk. As of 2024, tickets can no longer be booked online with The Fishing Passport. Information on local ticket outlets can be found on the clubs website.
