Caerphilly and District Angling Association has fishing on the Semtex lake in Brynmawr. This urban water has specimen carp and pike, plus other coarse fish species. The venue has been stocked three times in the last two years and there is now a good amount of upper doubles present. Semtex lake record is 27lb and there are lots of 20’s in the venue. There’s also a good head of original fish from an unknown origin, which add a sense of mystery to the venue. Day tickets are not available; the Semtex lake is only open for full members to fish. More details on the club website.
14 built swims including two double swims. The lake may be urban but is surrounded by native vegetation like hawthorn and dense reeds allowing anglers to easily tuck themselves out of public sight
