Welcome to Nant Moel, a 12 acre reservoir set in idyllic countryside, and two minutes off the A465. It offers fantastic fly fishing only for rainbow trout, and has easy access ramps, level paths and platforms for wheelchair users and those less mobile to have a great days fishing. There is secure car parking.

We also have a rowing boat available to full members. The reservoir is stocked regularly with rainbow trout averaging 2lb in weight, with a few larger ones. We are a friendly welcoming club, new members and anglers of all ages / abilities are welcome.

We have a team of very active bailiffs, day and night, to control any poaching. There is a one fish kill limit per day and 4 per week if you wish to take fish home with you, although catch and release is also permitted. With a maximum of 10 fish to be caught per day. The season runs from March 1st 2025 to January 31st 2026

Location: We are situated just off the A465 near Hirwaun /Llwydcoed and between the towns of Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil. This puts us in an ideal spot for easy access from anywhere within the South Wales Valleys and beyond. We are in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons in beautiful surroundings. The closest available postcode is CF44 0DJ.

The club also has fishing on the River Cynon, a tributary of the Taff which has grayling and wild brown trout.
