South Wales Fishing Society

A community angling club providing waters and competitions in freshwater and salt water throughout South Wales.

South Wales Fishing Society has Club Waters on 4 stillwaters around Swansea.

Clyne pond – located on Clyne cycle path. Clyne pool is a small pool approx. 3/4 of an acre situated in the heart of the stunning Clyne valley, the pool itself is fed by a natural stream which in return brings wild brown trout into the pool during heavy floods, the pool holds a good head of wild brown trout, roach, tench, bream, carp, perch, eels, brown goldfish and rudd.

The main purpose of Clyne is to get people from all walks of life to catch and enjoy a days fishing, hence the high density of stock, go down for a few hours on the float and we promise you wont be disappointed!

The Pluck Lake – located in Llansamlet behind/across the road from Morrisons. The pluck lake is our largest water at approx 2 acres. It is situated in Llansamlet Swansea, it holds around 80-90 specimen carp to 30lb+, pike to mid doubles and a good head of perch, roach and rudd with the odd big bream and tench lurking around.

The Pluck can be quite snaggy in places mainly due to boulders around the margins which we aim to remove over the next season, it also has rocky marginal shelfs so because of the nature of the lake we strongly advice a snag leader

The Lilly pond – located in singleton park in front of the Swiss chalet.

Day tickets are £4 and can be booked online with clubmate. Visit the Facebook page for more information on day tickets and the fisheries.

Lower Lliw Reservoir – A 20 acre reservoir a few miles north of Swansea. The club have just taken over the venue. It will be run predominantly as a trout venue as they are only allowed to stock trout.

A catch and keep ticket (3 trout) is £20. There is also a pleasure ticket, catch and release £12.

Any method is allowed, no fishing off dam wall.

The venue also holds natural brown trout, perch, pike and carp.

The club will set up a regular stocking program which will include rainbows, blues and tiger trout, with 500 brown trout being stocked initially.
