Merthyr Tydfil Angling Association has fishing on the Brecon Canal. The stretch starts at the Brecon canal basin, then past Brecon Town to Llanhamlach. The fishing is for a variety of coarse species including chub, perch and bream. The perch have been known to exceed 3lb in weight. Day tickets can be purchased online via the club website, from the Bait Shack tackle shop in Merthyr, or newsagents in Cefn Coed.
