Llanbradach Angling Club controled approximately one and half miles of fishing on the River Rhymney, a small post industrial river. This is urban and semi-urban fishing.

This stretch is well known for its prolific catches of grayling during the winter/autumn months and is well suited to fly fishing. Other species include wild brown trout, the odd chub, sea trout and salmon.
