Merthyr Tydfil Angling Alliance Fly Casting Clinics – Starting May 6th 2024
The MTAA fly casting clinics will commence on the 6th May on the Grove Fields in Aberfan. Session times will be 6pm till 8pm fortnightly.
The casting clinics run by Merthyr Tydfil Angling Alliance are for anglers of all ability, looking to be introduced, develop or master all aspects of fly fishing. It does not matter if you are a complete beginner or a seasoned angler, there is something for all!
The sessions will look at single handed, double handed and euro nymphing techniques, as well as approach, set ups and most importantly a chance to socialise and get to know other members.
The format will change slightly this year as the club will be running more familiarisation days on the water, with excellent fishing nearby on the river Taff.
The casting clinic will run fortnightly on the Grove as these sessions are a good social event and great for those who like casting, but may find access to waters more difficult.
If you are interested please register your interest with the club secretary along with any requirements the club would need to cater for, e.g. medical needs or equipment.

There is also a WhatsApp Community Group, the link can be found HERE.
Cost is free to members, £10 for non members. Free for under 16’s.
Updates will be posted regularly on the MTAA Facebook Group.
All are welcome and a massive thanks to GAIA Wales for supporting the clinic with qualified casting instructors.
