Porth Nefyn - Fishing in Wales

Porth Nefyn

Porth Nefyn is a clean, sandy beach with a jetty at one end. Fish include plaice, dabs, rays, bass, whiting.

At Llanhaelhaearn on the A499 take the B4417 to Nefyn and follow the signpost to the beach. The parking area is just above the beach.

Angler feedback:

Great fishing off Nefyn by boat. Summer weekends caught a great variety of fish. Gorgeous Pollack to be had from various reefs. Also Octopus which are a great laugh to haul in if you are in a fibre glass hulled boat, you need 8 arms to peel the suckers off the hull. Loads of other reef fish, Cod, Haddock,Whiting, Ling. Some nice Gurnard which make good eating off the beach BBQ, or filleted for bait. Loads of Mackerel in summer which are a pain as you can never get your bait to the bottom. Take a dustbin. Good bass fishing from the beach with an offshore wind and an incoming tide.
