Just under a mile in length, Dinas is some of the finest of the middle Usk fishing, offering 1st class opportunities for salmon and trout anglers. There are 2 named salmon pools in this mostly double bank fishery. The trout fishing is exceptional with a good variety of water – dry fly flats, fast riffles and deeper pools. Flowing over gravel for the most part, the wading is relatively easy with only the occasional rock to negotiate. Access to the water is good with vehicular access up to the water’s edge on the right bank where nearly all the fishing is from. This is a private, fly fishing only beat. This fishery is the upper section of the beat formally known as Dinas & Abercynrig prior to 2016. When wet, the parking is a short (450m) walk to the river.
