The Fishing Passport: River Usk (Canal & Rivers Trust) - Fishing in Wales

The Fishing Passport: River Usk (Canal & Rivers Trust)

This relatively short fishery would provide a group of 2-4 anglers with a good stretch of exceptional quality Usk salmon and trout fishing. The beat is spilt into two separate stretches and is ideal for a few hours fishing for one or two anglers.

The trout fishing is excellent with a good variety of water including dry fly flats, glides and pocket water. There are two excellent named salmon pools on the lower stretch – Ellis and Nicholls.

The wading is moderately difficult and chest waders are required to fully cover the water. Stud/felt soles are necessary. Please note that there is a walk of 300 yards from the parking point to the lower section.

From Tuesdays to Fridays this water is merged with a nearby beat to make the more substantial Glanusk Tymawr and Canal & Rivers Trust fishery.
