Just north of the spa town of Llanwrtyd Wells is the 2½ miles + of single and double bank fishing that comprises the Upper Irfon Beat. Flowing through one of the most picturesque valleys in the upper Wye system, this is a noticeably improving wild trout fishery with grayling now starting to appear in this part of the river. Please note that two local accommodation providers reserve the right to fish a house rod. However, this is only very rarely taken up.
