Rhosneigr: Cymyran Beach - Fishing in Wales

Rhosneigr: Cymyran Beach

Rhosneigr has Traeth Cymyran (Cymyran Beach), which stretches from Rhosneigr to Llanfairyneubwll, alongside Valley airfield. It is a mix of sand, rocks and shingle, fishing onto the same.

At the north end of the beach, between the main island and Holy Island, is a tidal race. This is good fly fishing water, especially for bass, but it can be dangerous and care is needed.

Fish include bass, cod, whiting, coalfish, pollock, conger, bullhuss, rays, codling, mackerel.

Traeth Cymyran is reached by exiting the A55 at junction 3. Follow the “Caergeiliog” and then the brown “Gwesty Cymyran Hotel” signs. Stay on the road, passing the hotel. Bear left at the Y-junction and park where the road ends at the north end of the beach.

Rhosneigr also offers fishing from Traeth Llydan (Broad Beach), Traeth Crigyll (Town Beach), Porth Trecastell (Cable Bay) and rock marks including Ty Croes.
