Porth Iago - Fishing in Wales

Porth Iago

Porth Iago is a clean. sandy beach, fishing onto similar ground. The best marks are on the rocks on the north side, fishing onto a mixed bed.

Fish include bass, pollack, wrasse, huss, plaice, codling, coalfish, whiting, gurnard.

The B4417 joins the B4113 some 4 miles north of Aberdaron. About 800 yards on the Aberdaron side of this junction, take the side road to the right (private sign to Brynffynon caravan park). This road comes to a 3-way junction, signed left to Aberdaron, straight on to Porth Oer, take the unmarked right turn. At the next junction, bear left and then right down a lane, signed “Porth Iago”. After a few hundred yards, turn left into Ty Mawr farm road and follow the instructions given on a notice at the gate. There is a parking area near the beach.
