Porth Clais - Fishing in Wales

Porth Clais

Porth Clais, also known as Porthclais, has fishing from a long rocky inlet. There is a harbour and rock ledges.

The rock marks are not easy to access and are not for the less agile. Local advice should be sought.

Fishing from the harbour is easier, access being along a footpath on the eastern side of the inlet.

For all marks, close in the bottom is rocky and weedy, with cleaner sand further out.

Fish include bass, wrasse, blenny, flatties, pollack, bull huss, dogfish.

Porth Clais is signposted from St. David’s. There is a car park at the head of the inlet, with footpaths leading to the harbour and the rock ledges.
