Pontarddulais and District Angling Association have game fishing on the River Loughor. Fishing is primarily for sewin (sea trout), with brown trout and salmon also present. The Loughor, known for its large sewin and also late season salmon, is a relatively short river with a huge estuary. Pontarddulais Angling Association have about 5 miles of fishing, from the tidal stretches around Pontardulais town, leading up into a very quiet pastoral valley towards Ammanford. The Loughor is a much more demanding river to fish at night than the Towy, being narrow and winding between steep banks, but it can produce spectacular results.
