Ogwen Valley Angling Association has game fishing on Llyn Idwal in Gwynedd, a mountain lake in spectacular surroundings. The lake holds wild brown trout to 1.5lb. Average size is about 10 ounces. Wading should only be attempted with extreme caution in the shallows, however anglers must be aware that the lake bed falls away steeply in places. Bank fishing is a necessity for most of the water but the club also allows float tubing. The walk up to Idwal takes a well-built stony path of approximately 1 mile in length which at a medium pace takes about 20 minutes. Be aware in peak holiday times this location is very popular with tourists.
