Mostyn is at the mouth of the Dee estuary and is mainly coarse shingle with a rough sea bed. There are occasional patches of silt. At the eastern end of the beach is the beached ship “Duke of Lancaster”. Fish caught include plaice, eels, dabs, flounder. Approaching Mostyn from the east, the Glan y Don pub is on the left. About 100 yards past the pub there is a narrow track on the right. Take this and park near the T-junction where this track meets another running along the top of the beach.
