Despite mineral poisoning from old lead mines llyn Geirionydd holds a good population of wild brown trout. These fish are free rising and are typically around 1/2lb in weight with the odd larger fish to 1lb. A float tube is a good option here. Be aware that power boats, wild swimming and kayaks are allowed here, so choose the time carefully. That said the fish are used to the disturbance. The site is owned by NRW and fishing is said to be free. Season runs 20th March to 17th October inclusive.
