Llwyn On Reservoir

Llwyn-On Reservoir, also referred to as Llwyn Onn, is the lowest reservoir in the Cwmtaf valley, the one nearest Merthyr Tydfil, on the A470 between Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon. At 150 acres in size, Llwyn On is the largest of the three reservoirs in the Taff valley.

It is well stocked with rainbow trout, good numbers of wild browns also being present. Fly, spinning and worming are permitted.

Fishing is controlled by Welsh Water and day tickets are available online or by telephone with the Fishing Passport. (01874 712074 )

There is a closed season here. The reservoir opens at the end of March, usually the last weekend of the month then the season runs to 30th October. Check on the Fishing Passport website for details.
