Llanbrynmair Angling Association has fishing on Llyn Gwyddior, a remote 31 acre mountain lake with wild brown trout. The lake has bank and boat fishing and is fly only. The lake is also stocked a few times a year with brown trout fingerlings, which grow on to a good size in the lake thanks to the rich invertebrate life. Trout over 2lb are common and fish from 3lb to 4lb are caught each season. For a Welsh lake this is a very good average. To fish Llyn Gwyddior contact Emyr Lewis. Day tickets are available, but must be pre-arranged. Gwyddior is accessed through rough forestry tracks and involves crossing a ford, so a 4×4 vehicle is advisable in wet weather.
