Crai Reservoir

Crai Reservoir, also known as Cray, is around 100 acres, just off the A4067, south of Sennybridge. It is a wild brown trout fishery, fly fishing only, on the Cnewer Estate.

Crai has many wild brown trout averaging around 12oz with plenty of pound plus fish. The fish respond well to dry flies and traditional wet flies. It fishes well on summer evenings. A fair amount of walking over rough and boggy ground is required to fish the best areas.

Fishing is open from the 1st April to the 30th September and is by fly fishing only. Day tickets available at the nearby Cnwer estate farm – go into the farmyard and post the money into an honesty box in the courtyard along with your vehicle details. Parking is down a gated track which goes to the dam wall. Current cost £15 (2024)

There is holiday accommodation on site which offers FREE fishing as part of the package – a great place to combine a family holiday with some fly fishing.
